Job scope:
The Mental Health Specialist is part of a disciplinary team and will work cooperatively with other members of the team to provide services to designated clients on the Crisis Residential and Extended Observation Units. As assigned, MH Specialists will assist in the admission process including performing inventory on client property and orienting clients to the unit, assist clients in performance of their activities of daily living, monitor client behavior in the facility, obtain client vital signs, assist with meals, assist with linen service and complete related documentation. Transporting clients to their homes or other locations, picking up meals and picking up medications from pharmacies may also be required.
Education/licensure:
Current valid driver's license in state of residence. Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge:
The Mental Health Specialist provides direct care to adult clients on the Crisis Residential Unit and the Extended Observation Unit.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:
Must have visual and auditory skills sufficient to evaluate and monitor consumers' needs. Mobility required to bend, reach lift (up to 50 pounds) while assisting consumers, carrying charts and equipment during a work day. Must be able to successfully complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving. Fine motor skills required for legible writing and driving of motor vehicle for transporting clients and business-related travel. Required to attend training.
MINIMUM HIRING SALARY PER HOUR: $16.00 DOE $3.00 /hour shift differential for 7p-7a shift worked
