Job scope:
Serves as a medical team member of Core Health Systems. This position provides women's health services to adolescent and adult females. Services for pediatric patients as scope of practice/licensure allows. Will coordinate care with local hospital systems, FQHC, and LMHA. Assists with women's health treatment, coordinates with the physician to ensure appropriate treatment is identified. Practices in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
Education/licensure:
Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant; Licensed for advanced practice in Texas issued by the Texas Board of Nursing/Texas Medical Board - Physician Assistants; Certificate for Texas Controlled Substances Registration issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety; Certificate for Controlled Substances Registration issued by the U. S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, Washington; and current valid driver's license in state of residence.
Nurse Practitioner/Certified Nurse Midwife minimum Qualifications:
(1) Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, (2) Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Certified Nurse Midwife Program, (3) Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure, (4) Current Nurse Practitioner or CNM certification in specialty area (as applicable), (5) Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:
Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day. Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treats, and monitors patient needs and maintains accurate records. Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate. Routine 8 to 10 hour shifts.
