Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant | Tyler Area

Job scope:  The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of services for babies ages 0-3years old in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. Address the functional needs of a child related to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play and sensory, motor and postural development. Provide services in the home or virtually using a parent-coach model. Main office is located in Tyler, but the position serves the surroundings counties: Smith, Henderson, Wood, Anderson, Cherokee, Rains, and VanZandt.  Operates under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECI Program Assistant Director.

Education/licensure:

Associates degree from an approved college or university in occupational therapy.  Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.  Prefer a minimum of one-year experience in pediatric occupational therapy.  Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge:  Experience in working with children with developmental delays is preferred, but not required.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Reliable transportation, be able to complete activities necessary to perform services including: bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling and kneeling.  Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold.  Must lift and transport equipment for transfer and repair.
