Job scope: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will be
responsible for the delivery of services for babies ages 0-3years old in the
Early Childhood Intervention Program. Address the functional needs of a child
related to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play and
sensory, motor and postural development. Provide services in the home or
virtually using a parent-coach model. Main office is located in Tyler, but the
position serves the surroundings counties: Smith, Henderson, Wood, Anderson,
Cherokee, Rains, and VanZandt. Operates
under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECI
Program Assistant Director.
Education/licensure:
Associates degree from an approved college or university in occupational therapy. Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Prefer a minimum of one-year experience in pediatric occupational therapy. Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
Experience/Knowledge:
Experience in working with children with
developmental delays is preferred, but not required.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Reliable transportation, be able to complete activities necessary to perform services including: bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling and kneeling. Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold. Must lift and transport equipment for transfer and repair.
