Job scope: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of services for babies ages 0-3years old in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. Address the functional needs of a child related to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play and sensory, motor and postural development. Provide services in the home or virtually using a parent-coach model. Main office is located in Texarkana, but the position serves the surroundings counties: Bowie, Cass and Red River. Operates under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECI Program Assistant Director.
Education/licensure:
Associates degree from an approved college or university in occupational therapy. Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Prefer a minimum of one-year experience in pediatric occupational therapy. Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
Experience/Knowledge: Experience in working with children with developmental delays is preferred, but not required.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Reliable transportation, be able to complete activities necessary to perform services including: bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling and kneeling. Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold. Must lift and transport equipment for transfer and repair
