Job scope:

LVNs perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of LVNs vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location, and type. In addition to administrative duties, LVNs perform clinical duties in accordance to state law, competency, licensure, and education.The clinical duties will include but not limited to taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during examinations.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.

Licensure: Current licensure by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Position requirements: Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position. Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills. Understanding of medical terminology.
