Education/licensure:
Physician Assistant or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Licensed to practice medicine in Texas issued by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners; Certificate for Texas Controlled Substances Registration issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety; Certificate for Controlled Substances Registration issued by the U. S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration.
Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
Experience/Knowledge:
Familiar with current psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. Competence in prescribing medications with knowledge of new-generation medications, side effects, and drug interactions. Ability to enhance a positive team working relationships.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:
Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day. Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treats, and monitors patient needs and maintains accurate records. Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate. Routine 8 to 10 hour shifts with weekends off.
