Job scope:Under supervision of the East Texas Veterans Resource Center (ETVRC) Program Supervisor, this position will assist Veterans to lead lives of dignity and independence by helping the veteran/veteran family address issues related to mental health and/or co-occurring disorders. This position shall provide outreach and engagement activities to veterans/families within the community and participate with area community partners in outreach events. Provide individualized support to veterans/families to facilitate successful engagement with community resources related to improving the mental health needs of the veteran/family. Responsivities may include facilitating Veteran Peer-to-Peer Groups, one-on-one support for veteran/families, and linkage to non-clinical therapies.
Education/licensure:Current valid driver's license in state of residence. Must have high school diploma or GED.
Experience/Knowledge:Must be a Veteran or Family Member of a Veteran. Personal experience with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:Position has requirements to perform lifesaving activities such as CPR and SAMA techniques.
