Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant | Tyler

Job scope: The Certified Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of services to address the functional needs of a child related to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play and sensory and motor and postural development.  This will be under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.  The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant reports to the Occupational Therapist and is under the general supervision of the ECI Program Director.

Education/licensure:

Associates degree from an approved college or university in occupational therapy.  Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.  Prefer a minimum of one-year experience in pediatric occupational therapy.  Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge: A minimum of one-year experience in working with children with developmental delays is preferred.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Must be able to transport clients, be able to complete activities necessary to perform services.  This includes but is not limited to bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, carrying, crawling and kneeling.  Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold.  Must lift and transport equipment for transfer and repair.
