Client Services Coordinator

Job scope:

The scope of this position is two-fold:

1)  Performs duties specific the East Texas Aging and Disabilities Resource center (ETxADRC) Housing Navigator grant which is to increase the availability of affordable, accessible, and integrated housing particularly for persons transitioning from an institutional setting to the community.  Will maintain an inventory of independent integrated, accessible and affordable housing within the PSA Region 6; advocate for necessary changes in housing policies, practices, and procedures that will help expand housing opportunities and support the Promoting Independence Initiative and Money Follows the Person (MFP) initiatives; develops affordable, accessible, and integrated housing for older adults and persons with disabilities by reviewing and responding to policies at the local levels; participate in  local coalitions that work toward affordable , accessible integrated housing.  This position also provides information and referral to targeted populations including older adults and persons with disabilities, works with local partners and other community resources in identifying area resources, and promotes the role of the East Texas ADRC as needed by the ADRC.

Data systems role: Provides data entry, referral and resource information, reporting and community outreach as adjunct to SSH and RRH grants.

Education/licensure:

High School Diploma/GED.  Preferred bachelor's degree in a business or related field and one (1) year of Housing experience or four (4) years of Housing experience.

Current valid driver's license in state of residence with acceptable driving record. 

Experience/Knowledge:

Must have broad knowledge base in housing development for residents that require specialized services and supports in order to maintain housing tenure.

Must have documented successful managing and/or developing housing specifically for vulnerable populations.

Requires advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Requires advanced communication and interpersonal skills that allows the employ to professionally and effectively interact with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Functions as a team member and actively participates in continuous quality improvement activities.

Demonstrates aptitude for logical and deliberate problem solving and decision making.

Able to advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:

Moderate lifting and carrying up to a maximum of 20 pounds. Sitting for prolonged periods, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching above shoulder height. Motor skills necessary to operate essential office equipment.  Physical ability to perform SAMA and CPR.  Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, monitor, and attend to tenant needs.

Minimum Hiring Hourly Salary: $16.00
