Health Promotions Program Coordinator

Job scope:  

The  Health Promotions Program Coordinator oversees the day to day operations of the SAMHSA PREV-NET program within the designated service area to provide substance abuse prevention services to school and community based services and prevention services associated with school readiness - i.e. bullying, impact of social media, school behavioral problems associated with risk and protective factors.  To strengthen and maintain cooperative working relationships with local school, police and other community partners in the service area.  To provide consultation to schools in the area related to evidence based practices.  Oversees the management, planning and development of health promotions programs. 

Education/licensure:  

Masters degree in social services, education, psychology, public health or related field.  Current valid driver's license in state of residence. Proof of automobile liability insurance and insurable by the Center insurance carrier.

Experience/Knowledge:

Experience in community organizing, alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and/or related public health fieldpreferred.  Experience in consultation / technical assistance and trainingpreferred.  Must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication.  At least one year experience in a similar role. 

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:  Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day.  Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.  Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treat, and monitor patient needs and maintain accurate records.  Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate.
