Licensed Vocational Nurse - Part Time | Texarkana

JOB SCOPE
  • The LVN will practice under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse/Physician.
  • The LVN will assist in the determination of predictable healthcare needs of consumers.
  • The LVN will perform nursing services as assigned and within the scope of practice for the Licensed Vocational Nurse under the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
MINIMUM HIRING SALARY ANNUALIZED
  • $45,000.00
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides direct nursing care and/or coordinates the delivery of psychiatric services.
  • General duties include assisting physicians in monitoring client's response to medications, ensuring physician orders are followed.
  • The LVN provides medication education to clients and their families.
  • The nurse screens medication related phone calls for the physician.
  • The nurse in conjunction with the clinic team, ensures that the physician has the proper documentation and treatment information to deliver services.
  • Duties are carried out in accordance with nursing licensure standards and established policies and procedures of Community Healthcore.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed in the state of Texas to practice as a LVN.
  • Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Current Health Care Provider CPR training certification.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and applied competency in standards of nursing practice for Licensed Vocational Nurse.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE BONA FIDE OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB:
  • Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
  • Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treat, and monitor patient needs and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to physically perform SAMA.
  • Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document or communicate.
  • Routine 8 to 10 hour shifts with weekends off.
