Systems Support Specialist | Longview Area

Job scope: Under the general direction of the Director of Contracts Management, performs work requiring application of varied methods and procedures requiring complex written, verbal and computation skills.  Provides clerical support, spreadsheets, databases and reports for the Director of Business Operations, Director of Contract Management, Contracts Administrator and Facilities Manager.  Also serves as a Backup to the Administrative Assistant for the Executive Director.

Education/licensure: Graduation from an accredited Senior High School or G.E.D. equivalent, including or supplemented by courses in business practices and computer software.  Current valid driver's license in state of residence, proof of automobile liability insurance, and a driving record insurable by the center's insurance carrier.

Experience/Knowledge: Working knowledge of software packages, office procedures, machine or business communication, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic. Experience in Microsoft Word to create documents with complex formatting and Excel to establish a complex worksheet and display in graphic form.  Knowledge of the principles of office management. Ability to analyze a process and identify the elements and decision points from start to finish.  Ability to apply knowledge of Center rules, regulations, procedures and functions or the principles of office management and supervision to work problems. Ability to work independently; to keep complex records and prepare accurate reports from statistical or other types of technical information; to compose effective correspondence and to interpret procedures and departmental policies. Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a pleasant and effective manner and to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:  Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-10 hour day.  Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.  Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records.  Fine motor skills legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally.  Work endurance ability to work an 8-hour day.
